Replacement of Bridge 06839, Route 2 Westbound Ramps (Exit 21) over Unnamed Brook in Colchester
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of construction activities for the replacement of Bridge 06839, Route 2 westbound ramps (Exit 21) over unnamed brook in Colchester.
Project 28-205 consists of the replacement of the existing structure with a precast box culvert and precast wingwalls and headwalls.
DOT Project No. 0028-0205 was awarded to Schultz Corporation at a cost of $689,849.78 on May 25, 2017 and is scheduled to be completed October 6, 2017.
Lane Closure Information

Route 2 westbound and all other roadways: Traffic impacts may occur periodically Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  Traffic impacts are not expected to begin until July 2017. 
During demolition of the existing culvert and installation of the new box culvert, the Route 2 westbound Exit 21 on and off-Ramps will be closed and a detour will be implemented.  The detour will occur for a 14-day period at a date not yet determined.  Specific dates of this closure will be published in a future press release.
