Rehabilitation of Bridge 03912 and Bridge 03913 Carrying Route 71 over Herald Square, Columbus Boulevard, Pan AM Railways, CT FastTrack and Route 72 and Ramps in New Britain
 
The project, beginning on April 1, 2017, consists of repairs to superstructure steel, cleaning and painting of beam ends, removal of concrete haunches over travel ways, repairs to substructures and top pier caps, and replacing sidewalks.
DOT Project No. 0088-0187 was awarded to Rotha Contracting Company at a cost of $5,184,380.00 on March 6, 2017 and is scheduled to be completed on April 16, 2018.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Route 72 Eastbound and Westbound (3 lane area):
The contractor will be allowed to close one lane of traffic during the daytime Monday through Sunday between the hours of 9am to 3pm – Night time lane closures will be between the hours of 6pm to 5am

The contractor will be allowed to close one lane of traffic during the daytime Monday through Sunday between the hours of 9am to 3pm – Night time lane closures will be between the hours of 6pm to 5am   
Ramps and Turning Roadways: the contractor will be allowed work between the hours of 9am and 3pm Monday through Friday.  From 6pm to 10am on Saturday and Sundays.
Route 71:  the contractor will be allowed to work between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00pm on Monday through Friday and 6pm to 10am on Saturday and Sunday.  
Herald Square and Columbus Boulevard: the contractor will be allowed work between the hours of 9am and 3pm Monday through Friday.  From 6pm to 10am on Saturday and Sundays.
