Rehabilitation of Bridge 00668, Route 12 over Mill Brook in Plainfield

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction will begin on May 25, 2017, for the rehabilitation of Bridge 00668, carrying Route 12 over Mill Brook in Plainfield, on May 25, 2017. 
The project consists of the demolition and replacement of the existing superstructure. The construction sequence will consist of two construction stages and will utilize temporary traffic signals for alternating one-way traffic.  The work also includes the relocation of existing gas and sewer utilities.
DOT Project no. 0108-0185 was awarded to New England Infrastructure, Inc. at a cost of $1,182,223.00 on May 1, 2017 and is scheduled to be completed November 15, 2017.

Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. & between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Saturday and Sunday between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m.

During bridge rehabilitation, an alternating one way traffic operation controlled by temporary signalization on Route 12.

During Stage 2 construction, truck and bus traffic entering Old Norwich Road will be detoured.
