Rehabilitation of Bascule Bridge  03637 over Yellow Mill Channel in Bridgeport

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction activities related to the storm armoring and waterproofing of Bridge 03637 which carries Route 130 over the Yellow Mill Channel is starting on or about April 1, 2017, Bridgeport.

The project includes waterproofing of the bascule pits by raising the front wall of the bascule piers to a projected high water elevation, repairing electrical conduits, limit switches, environmental upgrades consisting of a new oil water separator, installation of suction stand pipes, installation of new submersible sump pumps and upgrading the navigational lights.
DOT Project no. 0015-0372 was awarded to Mohawk Northeast Inc. at a cost of $2,113,150.00 on 02/02/17 and is scheduled to be completed 09/03/2017.

LANE CLOSURE INFO
9am to 3 pm – Maintenance and protection of traffic of Route 130 will be accomplished with the contractor maintaining a single lane of 11’ with alternating one-way traffic, closure of the bridge and a traffic detour, and/ or closing either the North or South sidewalks, or both, while implementing a pedestrian detour.  If complete detours are required a separate news release will be issued accordingly.
