The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction work will begin on February 27, 2017 on the reconstruction of Crystal Lake Road in the Town of Groton.

The project is located on Crystal Lake Road from the intersection with Route 12 to Military Highway, approximately 2,050 feet.  The project includes widening Crystal Lake Road to the south, realigning Military Highway with the Navy base entrance, and constructing a multi-use trail along the south side of Crystal Lake Road.  The proposed multi-use trail continues south of Crystal Lake Road another 2500 feet along the west side of Route 12 to the Pleasant Valley Road South intersection.  Military Highway will be reconstructed to better align with the US Navy Sub Base main entrance gate.
