Occasional Traffic Stoppages on the Exit 49 Off-Ramp of Route 15 and of Exit 8 on Route 25 in Trumbull for Blasting Activities
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing occasional traffic stoppages to facilitate blasting activities associated with work on the Pequonnock River Trail project. Blasting will begin on or about May 3, 2017, and will continue for approximately 3 weeks. Any blasting will occur between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM and traffic on the ramps will be intermittently stopped for up to 10 minutes. Stoppages will occur on the Exit 49 Off-Ramp of Route 15 and of Exit 8 on Route 25 in Trumbull.
About the project:
The project consists of constructing a multi-use pedestrian trail connecting Twin Brooks Park to an existing trail on Quarry Road. Work includes the rehabilitation of a historic railroad bridge that runs over the Merritt Parkway, constructing culvert tunnels under two exit/entrance ramps of Route 15 and Route 25, sidewalks, associated lighting and landscaping.
DOT Project No. 0144-0191 was awarded to J. Iapaluccio Inc. of Brookfield, Connecticut at a cost of $3,460,105.90 on December 13, 2016 and is scheduled to be completed on December 1, 2017.
