Noroton Heights Railroad Station Platform Replacement
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the replacement of the Noroton Heights Railroad Station Platforms in Darien starting on March 27, 2017.
The project consists of the replacement of platforms along Track 3 (New York Bound) and Track 4 (New Haven Bound) including guardrails / hand rails, bearings, an eastbound platform shelter, illumination upgrades, and minor appurtenances.  The Notice to Proceed was November 22, 2016 and the demolition segment of Stage 1 of the project is scheduled to begin on March 27, 2017 with Stages 2 through 4 to follow subsequently.  The project completion date is November 30, 2018 which includes two winter shutdowns for the years 2016-2017 and 2017-2018. 

DOT Project No. 0301-0170 was awarded to Manafort Brothers Inc. at a cost of $6,271,000.00 on October 28, 2016 and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2018. 
Commuters and the traveling public can expect closure of the South West quadrant at the commuter parking lot starting on March 27, 2017, for the work to replace the existing platform.  All traffic and parking will be shifted to the Southeast quadrant of the commuter parking lot.  Signage will be in place directing commuters to access the open section of the platform and the commuter parking lot.
