Nighttime Snow Removal along I 84 and Route 8

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime snow removal project on I-84 eastbound and westbound, and Route 8 northbound and southbound beginning Thursday, March 16, 2017.

The project consists of snow removal beginning 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 to the morning of Friday, March 17, 2017 to the locations listed below:

·         I-84 from Exit 1 to Exit 23 (Rt. 69), from the New York State Line to Waterbury  

·         Route 8 from Exit 14 (Derby Shelton Line)  to Exit 42  (Litchfield Town Line)

Impact Attenuators, variable message boards and cones will be utilized to guide motorists through the worksite. 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
