Nighttime Resurfacing Project on Route 85 (Main St.) in Colchester

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 85 (Main St.) in Colchester, beginning Sunday, July 30, 2017.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 2.69 mile segment of Route 85 (Main St.) in Colchester. 

The milling segment for this project is scheduled for Thursday, July 27, 2017, through Friday, July 28, 2017.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday, August 6, 2017, through Friday, August 11, 2017.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2017 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 85 (Main St.) from Route 354 (Parum Rd.) to the Colchester/Hebron Town Line.  One (1) state trooper, two (2) certified traffic controllers, and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The nighttime work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday – Friday)

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
