Nighttime Milling and Resurfacing Project on Route 6 in Columbia

    

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on US 6 (Willimantic Rd.) in Columbia, beginning Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 3.24 mile segment of Rt. 6 (Willimantic Rd.) in Columbia. The milling segment of these projects is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 to Thursday, June 1, 2017.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Sunday, June 4, 2017 to Tuesday, June 6, 2017.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Rt. 6 (Willimantic Rd.) from the Andover town line to Route 66 (Middletown Rd.). Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for the milling and resurfacing is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday-Thursday)

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
