Nighttime Milling and Resurfacing on I-395 Northbound in Plainfield and Killingly

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on I-395 northbound in Plainfield and Killingly, beginning Sunday, April 30, 2017. Lane closures will be required.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 5.24 mile segment of I-395 NB in Plainfield and Killingly. The milling segment for this project is scheduled to occur Sunday, April 30, 2017, to Monday, May 1, 2017, and Monday, May 1, 2017, to Tuesday, May 2, 2017, and on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, to Wednesday, May 31, 2017, and Wednesday, May 31, 2017, to Thursday, June 1, 2017.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Wednesday, June 6, 2017, through Wednesday, June 21, 2017.

The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday Evenings- Thursday Mornings).

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Motorists can expect periodic right/left lane closures on I-395 northbound from the Plainfield Rest Area to the Whetstone Bridge overpass in Killingly.  There will also be intermittent ramp closures at the

Route 6 WB off ramp at Exit #37 (old Exit #91) and the I-395 NB on ramp from Route 6 eastbound.

Two (2) State troopers, one (1) crash attenuator vehicle, and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday Evenings- Thursday Mornings).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
