Nighttime Bridge Maintenance on Route 9 in Berlin

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on Route 9 southbound in Berlin beginning Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

The project consists of bridge maintenance on Route 9 southbound, Bridge #3506, (SR 571 overpass) in Berlin. This project is scheduled to occur from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017 to the morning of Thursday, May 4, 2017.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2017 Bridge Replacement Program. Bridge repairs are being performed by Hammonasset Construction, LLC.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures between Ellis Street and Christian Lane in Berlin.   Lane closures will be performed in a progressive pattern.  Traffic control personnel, state police and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

(Monday-Thursday)

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
