Milling and Resurfacing on Route 44 (School Street) in Putnam

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will continue on Route 44 (School St.) in Putnam through Tuesday, August 22, 2017.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 4.74 mile segment of Route 44 (School St.) in Putnam. 

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 44 (School St.) from I-395 to the Rhode Island State Line.  Two (2) local policemen, one (1) certified traffic controller, and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  Once clear of Route 21(Liberty Hwy.), three (3) certified traffic controllers and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone for the milling and paving.  The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Monday – Friday).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
