Intersection Improvements on Route 1 at Route 53 in Norwalk
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of  night work at the intersection of Route 1 at Route 53 in Norwalk.
Construction activities associated with the improvements to the intersection of Routes 1 at Route 53 will require implementation of night time lane restrictions through the area. A minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction within the work zone. This project began on April 1, 2017 and is scheduled to be complete by August of 2018.
DOT Project No. 102 – 325/346 was awarded to Waters Construction Company of Bridgeport, CT on November 30, 2016 for $286,583.60 .
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Segments of Route 1 at Route 53 in the City of Norwalk will be impacted by work associated with this project. Lane closures on Rte. 1 NB & SB will occur from 7:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M. (Monday thru Friday). A minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction within the work zone.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions of these schedules may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
