Bridge Maintenance on Route 9 in Essex

     

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will be performed on Route 9 – northbound and southbound – in Essex, beginning Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

The project consists of bridge maintenance on Rt. 9 SB to Bridge #03343 (Rt. 154 Overpass), Bridge #03341

(Rt. 153 Overpass), and Rt. 9 NB, Bridge #03342 (Rt. 153 & Rt. 154 Overpass) in Essex.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect left lane or right lane closures on Rt. 9 SB & NB in the town of Essex. Rt. 9 SB will be between Exit 4 to Exit 3 and Rt. 9 NB will be between Exit 2 and Exit 3. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the SB direction and 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the NB direction. Tuesday,

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
