Bridge Maintenance along Route 9 in Essex.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will be performed on Rt. 9 SB & NB in Essex, Monday, June 12, through Friday, July 14, 2017.

The project consists of bridge maintenance on Rt. 9 southbound Bridge #03343 (Rt. 154 overpass), Bridge #03341 (Route 153 overpass), and Route 9 northbound Bridge #03342 (Route 153 and Route 154 overpass) in Essex.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect left lane or right lane closures on Rt. 9 SB and NB in Essex. Rt. 9 SB will be between Exit 4 to Exit 3 and Rt. 9 NB will be between Exit 2 and Exit 3. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Rt. 9 SB and 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Rt. 9 NB, Monday, June 12, 2017 through Friday, July 14, 2017. No work will be performed on July 3-5, 2017, due to the July 4^th holiday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
