Bridge Maintenance along Route 9 in Essex.

     

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will be performed on Rt. 9 SB & NB in Essex, Monday, June 12, through Friday, July 14, 2017.

The project consists of bridge maintenance on Rt. 9 southbound Bridge #03343 (Rt. 154 overpass), Bridge #03341 (Route 153 overpass), and Route 9 northbound Bridge #03342 (Route 153 and Route 154 overpass) in Essex.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect left lane or right lane closures on Rt. 9 SB and NB in Essex. Rt. 9 SB will be between Exit 4 to Exit 3 and Rt. 9 NB will be between Exit 2 and Exit 3. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Rt. 9 SB and 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Rt. 9 NB, Monday, June 12, 2017 through Friday, July 14, 2017. No work will be performed on July 3-5, 2017, due to the July 4th holiday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
