Alternating One-Way Traffic Controlled by Temporary Traffic Signal on US Route 1 over Pattagansett River in the Town of East Lyme
The Connecticut Department of Transportation will alternate one-way traffic controlled by a temporary traffic signal on US Route 1 over Pattagansett River in East Lyme, to facilitate ongoing bridge replacement activities, beginning on or about Tuesday, September 5, 2017.
The alternating one-way traffic will allow one lane on the bridge to remain open during the work.  Please drive cautiously and leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you.
There may be times when traffic is controlled by uniformed traffic persons or town police.  The allowable times are between:
• 6:00 pm Sunday through 6:00am Monday,
• 9:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Friday,
• 6:00pm to 6:00am Monday through Friday,
• 6:00pm Friday through 10:00am Saturday,
• 6:00pm Saturday through 10:00am Sunday.
Temporary precast concrete barriers and other traffic devices will be used during stage construction.
The project consists of a complete bridge structure replacement, drainage improvements, and full depth roadway reconstruction.  DOT Project No. 0044-0148 was awarded to D & V Morin Construction Co., at a cost of $1,991,519.00 on June 24, 2016, and is scheduled to be completed November 14, 2017.
