Alternating One Way Traffic to Begin at Bridge 02934, Route 234 over Anguilla Brook in Stonington
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that alternating one-way traffic will begin at Bridge 02934, Route 234 over Anguilla Brook in the Town of Stonington to facilitate replacement of the structure.
The work zone is situated between South Anguilla Road and Sergio Franchi Drive on Route 234. Traffic will be controlled by temporary signalization utilizing alternating one-way traffic on a minimum lane width of 11-feet.
The project is necessary to correct the structural deficiencies of the existing bridge which is in poor condition.  Additionally, the existing bridge is functionally-obsolete and is considered hydraulically inadequate. 
The contract was awarded to New England Infrastructure, Inc. of Hudson, Massachusetts at a cost of $1,979,397.60 on March 22, 2017 and is scheduled to be completed in November 2018.
