Westway Road in Southport Reopen to Traffic Friday January 10

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Westway Road between Pequot Avenue and Westford Drive in Southport will reopen to traffic on Friday January 10, 2014, three years after being closed for railroad work in the vicinity.

      The railroad project includes improvements of the overhead catenary wire system and replacement of five bridges on the New Haven Rail Line between Bridgeport and Fairfield.

      DOT Project no. 15-296/0301-070 was awarded to Ducci Electrical Contractors of Torrington, CT at a cost of $79,234,692.60 on April 2007 and is scheduled to be completed December 2014.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      Westway Road will be closed intermittentanly as needed to complete all remaining punch list items. Traffic signs and personnel will be utilized to direct traffic through the work zone between the hours of 9:00am to 3:00pm and 9:00pm to 6:00am, on daily basis, weather permitting.
