Water Main Repair along Thomaston Avenue in Waterbury

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing repairs to a 30-inch water main in the southbound lane of Thomaston Avenue (S.R. 847) 400 feet south of Homer Street in Waterbury, December 1-3, 2014.

      The project consists of excavation at two locations in the southbound lane of Thomaston Avenue to expose the 30 inch water main, to allow the installation of a line stop and repairs to the water main.    

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      Motorists should expect traffic delays. The southbound lane of SR 847 (Thomaston Avenue) will be closed from 7:00 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2014 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2014.  There will be alternating one lane traffic, in the north bound lane through the work zone. This work zone is located approximately 400 feet south of Homer Street on SR 847 (Thomaston Avenue) in Waterbury. Traffic control signs, variable message sign boards and City of Waterbury Police will be utilized.  The city of Waterbury will be supplying all traffic control.

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
