Traffic Shift Scheduled for Route 1 in Norwalk on Thursday, December 11

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the shifting of lanes on U.S. Route 1 between the I-95 Southbound Exit 14 ramp and Fairfield Avenue in Norwalk during the day on Thursday, December 11.

      The lane shifts are required to accommodate future drainage, utility and sidewalk work in conjunction with continuing improvements along Interstate 95 and Route 1 in Norwalk.  The shift affects U.S. Route 1 northbound and southbound lanes between the I-95 Southbound Exit 14 ramp and Fairfield Avenue.

      The lane shifts will be completed between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday, December 11 (weather permitting).  Motorists should be prepared for delays along Route 1 and seek alternate routes in area
