Stratford Railroad Station Parking Lot Expansion

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the expansion of the westbound railroad station parking lot located on Main Street (Route 113) in Stratford will begin on May 8, 2014.

      The project consists of renovation and expansion of the current parking lot by 192 spaces, new landscaping and drainage improvements. This project is scheduled to be completed in January of 2015. 

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      Commuters are advised that alternative parking locations will be provided during the course of the project. In anticipation of a May 8, 2014 start, permit and daily parkers at the Stratford Railroad Station will be notified of the temporary parking plans by flyers, signage and email when possible. Access to the train station and adjacent restaurant will be maintained at all times. For additional info, commuters can email railroad@townofstratford.com. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Monday thru Friday).

      Segments of the following routes will be impacted by this project:  Route 113 (Main Street) in the Town of Stratford.

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.

      DOT Project No. 138-226 was awarded to J. Iapaluccio, Inc. of Danbury, CT on March 24, 2014 for $1,581,501.50 with an official start date of May 8, 2014 and an anticipated completion date of January, 2015.
