Safety Improvement Projects in Brooklyn, Killingly, Essex, Chester, Bozrah, Old Saybrook and Clinton

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a safety attenuator installation projects will be performed on Rt. 6 in Brooklyn & Killingly, Rt. 9 in Essex & Chester, Rt. 2 in Bozrah, and I-95 in Old Saybrook & Clinton – Thursday, December 4 through Friday, December 12, 2014.

      The project consists of installing attenuators at:

  • Rt. 6 eastbound near Brickyard Rd. in Brooklyn
  • Rt. 6 east/west end of median at Day St. in Brooklyn
  • Rt. 6 median by Old Furnace Rd. in Killingly
  • Rt. 9 southbound at Exit 3 in Essex
  • Rt. 9 southbound at Exit 6 in Chester
  • Rt. 2 eastbound at Exit 23 end ramp in Bozrah
  • I-95 southbound at Elm St. exit in Old Saybrook
  • I-95 northbound at mile point 69.75 in Clinton     

      This work is being performed by PGP Group, dba the Atlas Companies.  Vendor to supply Call-Before-You-Dig numbers for each location. 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      Motorists can expect lane closures to occur at these locations. State traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (weekdays). 

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
