Replacement of Retaining Wall on Route 8 and 25 Southbound in Bridgeport
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the replacement of the retaining wall on Route 8 and 25 south bound will begin on or about September 8, 2014.
The project consists of installing a new concrete retaining wall in front of the existing metal bin retaining wall adjacent to the highway, approximately 1 mile before Exit 5.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Beginning at the merge of Route 25 and Route 8, the right lane on Route 25 will be closed throughout the duration of the project and temporary precast barrier will be set up to protect the work area. Signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists around the work zone. The allowable work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Monday thru Friday).  
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity. 
DOT Project No.15-364 was awarded to Complete Construction Co. of Ansonia, CT on July 17, 2014 for $1,323,673. The anticipated completion date is May of 2015.
