The project involves replacing and relocating existing overhead and side mounted highway signing on I-395 from the East Lyme/Waterford town tine to the vicinity of Exit 88 in Plainfield and on S.R. 693 to Route 32 and also on Route 2A to Route 12. New exit signs will be installed to correspond to the mileage posts.

Replacement of the highway signing will consist of removing existing overhead, side mounted and post mounted signs and installing new overhead, side mounted and post mounted signs on existing sign supports and new sign supports. Ramp signing will also be included for removal and replacement. Work will begin on May 1, 2014.

DOT Project No. 0172-0387 was awarded to AM Rizzo Electrical Contractors, Inc. at a cost of $3,216,000 on December 6, 2013, and is scheduled to be completed on November 22, 2015.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Lane closures are allowable south of Exit 14 during the following time periods:

Northbound - Monday thru Friday from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Friday thru Sunday from 11:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m., and Sunday from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday

Southbound - Monday thru Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Friday thru Sunday from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., and Sunday from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday

Lane closures are allowable north of Exit 14 during the following time periods:

Northbound - Monday thru Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday thru Sunday from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., and Sunday from 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday

Southbound - Monday thru Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Friday thru Sunday 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m., and Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday
