Replacement of Bridge No.’s 02728 & 02729, Route 163 over Fox Brook in the Town of Montville
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of work and temporary closure of Oakdale Road (Route 163) in the area of the Oakdale Road/Meeting House Lane intersection beginning on or about April 28, 2014.
The project consists of the replacement of Bridge No.’s 02728 & 02729, Route 163 over Fox Brook in Montville. The work will include replacement of culverts/bridges for the two branches of Fox Brook, new pavement, upgraded metal beam rail and concrete sidewalks in the area.
DOT Project No. 0085-0138/0139 was awarded to Old Colony Construction, LLC at a cost of $1,489,922.92 on April 14, 2014, and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2014.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Shoulder closures, lane closures and alternating one-way traffic can be expected to occur after April 28, 2014. 
Full closure of Oakdale Road (Route 163) is expected on or about May 6, 2014, and is scheduled to be removed no later than October 15, 2014. A detour will be implemented to direct traffic around the work zone area. The detour will use the following local town roads - Fellows Road, Old Colchester Road and Chesterfield Road.
Motorists are urged to obey the posted speed limit and proceed with caution when driving in this area.
