Replacement of Bridge No. 02781, Route 184 over Shunock River in the Town of North Stonington
The Department of Transportation is announcing that Replacement of Bridge No. 02781, Route 184 over Shunock River in the Town of North Stonington, CT will begin on or about May 1, 2014.

The project consists of the complete replacement of the existing bridge structure, paving the approaches and replacement of guiderail systems.

The new bridge will be constructed utilizing staged construction to maintain the river’s flow. Route 184 will be closed to facilitate the construction of the new bridge.

The project was awarded to Arborio Corporation of Cromwell, CT at a cost of $1.5 million and is scheduled for completion in November 2014.

Traffic detour will be installed prior to closing Route 184 and will remain in place for the duration of the project (approx. 7 mos.).  A future press release will be issued to announce the starting date of the traffic detour.
