Rehabilitation of Society Road Bridge over I-95 in East Lyme

     

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the rehabilitation of the society road bridge over I-95, and the reconstruction of East and West Society Road intersection in the own of East Lyme will begin September 19, 2014.

      project consists of the construction of a new Society Road bridge over I-95, removal of the existing Society Road Bridge over I-95, new drainage structures, new guide rail and roadway paving.

 

      DOT Project no. 0044-0152 was awarded to New England Road, Inc. at a cost of $5,275,452.50 on July 31, 2014 and is scheduled to be completed May 19, 2016. This is Bridge Number 00249.

      I-95 traffic may be halted up to 10 minutes between 12:01 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., and between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. only Monday-Thursday.  Other roads may be impacted from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to  6:00 a.m. with 10 minute stoppages.
