Rehabilitation of Bridge Carrying Interstate 84 Westbound over Abandoned B&M RailRoad in the Town of Southington
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of work Monday April 14, 2014, for safety improvements, joint repair, concrete deck repairs, and the replacement of bridge bearings on Bridge No. 01247 carrying I-84 west over an abandoned rail line.
The project involves the replacement of bridge bearings, abrasive blasting and painting of the bridge, replacement of bridge joints, and miscellaneous repairs to concrete substructure.

DOT Project No. 0131-0197 was awarded to Arborio Corporation of Cromwell, CT on December 20, 2013, at the cost of $1,681,881.00 and is scheduled to be completed in October 2014.
