Rehabilitation of Bridge 5466, SSR 450 (Horse Pond Road) over Huzzle Guzzle Brook in Madison
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the roadway closure of SSR 450 (Horse Pond Road) for the rehabilitation of Bridge 5466 in the town of Madison.  Route 450 (Horse Pond Rd) will be completely closed and detoured from September 4, 2014, to October 15, 2014.  The posted detour will utilize Route 79 during this 28-day period.
The project consists of the removal of the existing pipe arch carrying Huzzle Guzzle Brook, and the replacement of the structure with a precast concrete arch.  Minor metal beam rail improvements and road widening and plantings will occur.  This work will occur between Kelsey Springs Road and Richborough Road.
DOT Project No. 75-129 was awarded to TradeMark Contractors, LLC at a cost of $866,111.00 on February 10, 2014 and is scheduled to be completed November 15, 2014.

Traffic may be impacted Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00 pm to 10:00 am.  Minor delays may be anticipated at other times.  Rte. 450 (Horse Pond Rd) will be completely closed and detoured from September 3, 2014 to Sept 30, 2014.  The posted detour will utilize Route 79 during this 28-day period.
