Project Work U.S. Route 1 between Noble Avenue and Route 127 (East Main Street) in Bridgeport
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction activities along U.S. Route 1 in Bridgeport will require the detouring of westbound traffic between Goddard and Beecher Street for approximately two weeks starting Thursday, April 17, 2014.
Construction activities associated with the addition of operation lanes at various intersections on Route 1 in Bridgeport will require implementation of daytime lane restrictions and detours of Route 1.
LANE CLOSURE-
The regular work schedule for this project is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Monday thru Friday).
DETOUR INFO-
Detour of U.S. Route 1 Westbound - Thursday, April 17 to Friday, May 30 2014.
Westbound traffic will be detoured onto Goddard Street and then onto the eastbound portion of Route 1 up to Beecher Street where traffic will be shifted back into west bound travel lanes. Eastbound Route 1 will be temporarily divided to accommodate one lane of eastbound and one lane of westbound traffic for the duration of the detour. 
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity. 

DOT Project No. 173-291 was awarded to Laydon Industries, of New Haven, CT on August 20, 2011, with an official start date of October 14, 2011 and an anticipated completion date of June 30, 2014.
