Pavement Preservation Program On Route 8 in Trumbull, Stratford and Shelton
The purpose of this program is to enhance pavement performance by using cost-effective treatments to extend the service life of the existing pavement. A section of Route 8 in Trumbull, Stratford and Shelton has been identified as a candidate for this program. The Department is developing plans to mill and overlay the bituminous pavement on Route 8 from approximately 0.3 miles before exit 8 in Trumbull, to approximately 0.3 miles after exit 13 in the Shelton.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in October 2014 , with construction anticipated to start in spring 2015. This project will be undertaken with 100 % state funds.
It is the Department's policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken. It is important that the community share its concerns with us to assist in the project's development. It is not anticipated that an informational meeting or a formal public hearing will be held for this project due to the limited nature of the proposed work.
Anyone  interested in receiving information on  this   project   may  do so by contacting Mr. William W. Britnell, Principal Engineer of Highway Design, at (860) 594-3274, or by e-mail at William.Britnell@ct.gov. Please make reference to State Project Number 0144-0195.
