Nighttime Utility Project on I-91 Northbound and Southbound in Enfield

    

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime utility project will be performed on I-91 Northbound and Southbound in Enfield beginning January 21, 2014.

      The project consists of a water main replacement on Sword Avenue Bridge (#1287) over I-91 Northbound and Southbound in Enfield.  This project is scheduled to occur from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 to the morning of Thursday, February 13, 2014.

      This work is being performed by Connecticut Water under a DOT encroachment permit.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      Motorists can expect lane closures on I-91 Northbound and Southbound between Exit 49 and the Massachusetts State Line. Traffic control personnel, state police and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Monday through Thursday evenings). 

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
