Nighttime Resurfacing on Routes 5 and 517 in East Hartford

     

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 5 and SR 517 in East Hartford, July 13-25, 2014

      The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 3.46 mile segment of Route 5 and SR 517 in East Hartford. The milling segment of this project is scheduled to be performed from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Sunday, July 13, 2014 to the morning of Thursday, July 17, 2014. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014 to Friday, July 25, 2014.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 5 from SR 517 (Main Street) to the Access to westbound I-84; SR 517 from SR 516 eastbound (Willow Street Ext.) to Route 5 northbound; and Route 5 from end of the overlap to Route 15 to SR 517 (Main Street). Traffic control personnel, signing patterns, and crash attenuator vehicles will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday - Friday)

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
