Nighttime Ramp Closures Scheduled for Route 7 Ramps At Backus Avenue,

Exit 8, in Danbury

         

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the Route 7 South off ramp, and the on ramp to Route 7 north at Exit 8, Backus Avenue in Danbury is scheduled to be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Tuesday, July 8 through Thursday, July 10, and Monday, July 14, 2014.

      The work consists of the removal of the existing bridge deck joints across the full width and replacement with new concrete and asphaltic plug joints.  The closures are required to complete replacement of bridge joints on the ramp structures.

      These two locations are one of thirteen bridges that are being completed as part of DOT Project no. 0174-0364 was awarded to Arborio Corporation at a cost of $2,283,130.00 on July 26, 2013, and is scheduled to be completed November 22, 2014.

DETOUR INFO -

      Route 7 South off ramp to Backus Avenue (Exit 8)- Vehicles will be will be directed to follow detour to Exit 7, Sugar Hollow Road and back onto Backus Ave.

      Route 7 North on ramp from Backus Avenue- Vehicles will be directed to follow detour to Sugar Hollow Road to Wooster Heights and onto the ramp for Route 7 north.
