Nighttime Ramp Closures for Route 8 Southbound Ramp to I-84 Eastbound, Exit 31, in Waterbury To Continue Through Friday September 5, 2014
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the continuation of overnight closures of the Route 8 southbound ramp to I-84 East, Exit 31, in Waterbury through Friday, September 5.  No ramp closures will be allowed during the Labor Day holiday weekend from Friday, August 29 through Monday September 1. 
The ramp closure is necessary to complete the removal and replacement of the ramp structure deck joints with new concrete and asphaltic plug joints.  The work is part of DOT Project No. 0174-0364 to replace bridge joints on thirteen bridges in various towns.  The project was awarded to Arborio Corporation at a cost of $2,283,130 and is scheduled to be completed in November 2014.
DETOUR INFO – Route 8 southbound ramp to I-84 East, Exit 31 closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. except during the Labor Day Holiday period Friday, August 29 through Monday, September 1, 2014.
Motorists will be detoured to Rt.8 SB Exit 30, Washington Avenue, and then back onto Rt. 8 NB to Exit 31 which will bring them back onto I-84 East.
