Nighttime Bridge Maintenance on Route 8 in Bridgeport; Lane Closures Required

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on Route 8 in Bridgeport, November 9-21, 2014.

      The work consists of bridge maintenance on the bridges listed below. This work is scheduled to occur from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

·         Bridge #3538 over Prospect Street

·         Bridge #3539 over Route 130 State Street

·         Bridge #3540 over John Street

·         Bridge #3541 over SR 700 Fairfield Avenue

·         Bridge #3542 over SB Route 8 Ramp 126

      This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2014 bridge maintenance program.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 8, Northbound & Southbound between Interstate 95 and Exit 2 (SR 700), in Bridgeport.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday through Friday.

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
