Nighttime Bridge Maintenance on Route 8 in Bridgeport

    

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that nighttime bridge maintenance will continue on five bridges on Route 8 in Bridgeport through October 31, 2014.

      The work consists of bridge maintenance on the bridges listed below:

·         Bridge #3538 over Prospect Street

·         Bridge #3539 over Route 130 State Street

·         Bridge #3540 over John Street

·         Bridge #3541 over SR 700 Fairfield Avenue

·         Bridge #3542 over SB Route 8 Ramp 126

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 8, Northbound & Southbound between Interstate 95 and Exit 2 (SR 700), in Bridgeport. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday through Friday morning.

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
