Helicopter to Install New Overhead Electric Line across Route 8 in Watertown;

Some Traffic Delays Expected

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that CL&P will be installing a new overhead electric line across Route 8 between Exits 36 and 37 in Watertown on Saturday, March 22, 2014, between the hours of 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. A helicopter will be part of the operation.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      Motorists can expect short delays for up to five minute intervals.  Traffic control will consist of State Troopers and signing patterns.  Troopers will execute a rolling slow down to ensure that traffic is not below the work zone during the operation. 

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
