Motorist Advisory - Short Term Nighttime Closure of Interstate 84 in Both Directions at Exit 23, Hamilton Avenue, in Waterbury Scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2014

     The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that on early Saturday morning, November 15, 2014 from 3 AM to 4 AM, I-84 will be closed for approximately one hour in both directions at Exit 23 Hamilton Avenue for relocation of overhead power lines. 

The relocation work is being performed by Connecticut Light and Power, a division of Northeast Utilities, as part of the advanced utility work for the upcoming project to reconstruct Interstate 84 from Washington Avenue, east to Pierpont Road in the City of Waterbury.

CLOSURE AND DETOUR INFO:

Lane closures will begin at approximately 2:30 AM in both directions in advance of the closure of I-84 at 3 AM

I-84 will be closed at Exit 23 east and westbound for approximately 1 hour from 3 AM to 4 AM

Westbound Traffic will be detoured off Exit 23 Hamilton Avenue and will follow Hamilton Avenue to Union Street and directed back onto I-84 at the on ramp located opposite Brass Mill Shopping Mall

Eastbound traffic will be directed off Exit 23 and follow the parallel frontage road back onto I-84 at the Hamilton Avenue intersection.
