Milling and Resurfacing Project, Routes 131 and 197 in Thompson
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 0.27 mile segment of Route 131 and a 0.67 mile segment of Route 197 in Thompson.  The milling segment of this project is scheduled to occur on Thursday, May 29, 2014.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed from Wednesday, June 4, 2014, through Thursday, June 5, 2014.
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 131 from Route 197 to the MA State Line and on Route 197 from the Quinebaug River to the MA State Line in Thompson.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
