Milling and Resurfacing Project on Route 71 in New Britain

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 71 in New Britain beginning Monday, August 18, 2014.

      The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 2.45 mile segment of Route 71 in New Britain. The milling segment of this project is scheduled to be performed Monday, August 18,  to Wednesday, August 27. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed Monday, September 8, to Friday, September 19.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 71 from South Street to Route 175 (Allen Street). Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Monday - Saturday).

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
