Milling and Resurfacing Project, I-84 East and West in Hartford and East Hartford
The project consists of milling and resurfacing an 8.12 mile segment of I-84 eastbound and westbound in Hartford and East Hartford. The milling portion of this project is ongoing through Thursday, May 8, 2014. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed Sunday, May 4, 2014 to Tuesday, June 3, 2014.
Motorists can expect lane closures in the eastbound and westbound direction of I-84 from the eastbound end of the Viaduct to .03 miles east of the eastbound underpass of westbound Route 2. Motorists can also expect all ramps within this termini to have limited access.
Traffic control personnel, signing patterns, and crash attenuator vehicles will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. until Monday, May 26, 2014 (Sunday - Thursday). Beginning Tuesday May 27, 2014, the work hours will be 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday - Thursday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
