Lane and Ramp Closure Schedule for Rehabilitation of Bridge over Interstate 84, US Route 7 and Beaver Brook in Danbury

    

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that on November 14, 2014, activity for the painting of the structure carrying the Route 7 southbound Exit 10 ramp to I-84 EB located in Danbury will begin.  The work is expected to continue over the winter months.

      The project consists of substructure repairs, abrasive blast cleaning and painting of steel beams, replacement of bearings, and deck resurfacing along with minor safety improvements.

      No lane or ramp closures will occur during the Thanksgiving holiday period from Wednesday, November 26 to 8 pm Monday December 1.

LANE CLOSURE INFO – Only shoulder closures allowed during daytime on I-84 and Route 7 including Exit 10 ramp

Monday – Thursday

US 7 Southbound 7 PM - 6 AM and Northbound 8 PM - 6 AM

I-84 West 9 PM - 6 AM and East 10 PM - 6 AM

Friday – Sunday

Lane closures begin between 9 and 10 PM and complete between 6 AM and 9 AM Saturday and Sunday. 

RAMP CLOSURE INFO - Route 7 Southbound, Exit 10, to I-84 East

Ramp closed from 10 PM to 6 AM Sunday through Saturday

Detour- Traffic will be detoured to I-84 westbound Exit 6, Route 37, where they will be directed to the I-84 eastbound on ramp.

DOT Project No. 0034-0334 was awarded to Olympus Painting Contractors, Inc. at a cost of $3,302,282.50 and is scheduled to be completed in May 2016.  The project is being administered by District 4 Construction, Thomaston.
