Intersection Improvements in East Hampton

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that intersection improvements on Routes 66 and 196 and Old Marlborough Road in East Hampton will begin November 14, 2014.

      The work includes new drainage structures, elimination of the island at the intersection of Route 66 and 196 and installation of a new traffic signal. New sidewalks and driveway aprons will also be installed.

      DOT Project No. 0041-0113 was awarded to Red Technologies, LLC, of Bloomfield, CT at a cost of $2,296,165.10 on September 30, 2014 and is scheduled to be completed in November 2015.

      The Contractor will be allowed to halt traffic as approved by the Engineer for a period of time not to exceed 10 minutes on Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
