Chopper to be Used for New Overhead Electrical Cable Installation in Middlebury;

Brief I-84 Ramp Closures Required

     

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that CL&P will be using a helicopter to install four new overhead electrical cables across the Exit 17 on ramp to I-84 Westbound and across Route 63 (Straits Turnpike) located east of the on ramp in Middlebury on Saturday, March 29, 2014, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.

      Rain dates are Sunday, March 30, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and Monday, March 31, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

RAMP CLOSURE INFO:

      Motorists can expect Ramp Closures for up to five (5) minute intervals as well as short delays on  Route 63 (Straits Turnpike). Traffic control will consist of State Troopers and signing patterns.        

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
