Cables to be Installed over I-84 in Middlebury

                The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Connecticut Light & Power will be pulling cables overhead on I-84 in Middlebury, a half-mile east of the South Street Bridge overpass on Saturday, August 9, 2014. Rain date is Sunday, August 10. A helicopter will be used in this operation.

Work hours will be between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

TRAFFIC INFORMATION
Motorists should expect traffic delays.   The right shoulder of I-84 in the eastbound and westbound roadways will be closed.  Cranes will be placed in the median of the roadway  There will be no lane closures.  Traffic control signs, variable message sign boards and State Police will be used.  CL&P will be supplying all traffic control.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
