Broad Street in Hartford Closed to Vehicle Traffic Between Capitol Avenue and Farmington Avenue from 6 AM Sunday, October 12 until 5 AM Monday, October 13.

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Broad Street from Capitol Avenue to Farmington Avenue and access to I-84 eastbound in Hartford will also be closed to vehicles from 6 AM on Sunday, October 12 until 5 AM on Monday, October 13.

      The closure is required to complete the installation of new bike lanes along Broad Street, as part of the CTfastrak Bus Rapid Transit project.  Pedestrian access to all businesses and facilities along this section of Broad Street will be maintained.    

DETOUR INFO – Signs will be posted along detour routes to assist motorists through the area.

Broad Street Traffic (Northbound and Southbound)

Traffic will be diverted around the work area utilizing the following streets: Farmington Avenue, Sigourney Street, Park Terrace and Capitol Avenue. 

84 East On Ramp – Traffic wanting to access 84 eastbound will be detoured to on ramps at Sigourney Street or Trumbull Street.
