Bridge Maintenance on Route 16 over the Salmon River in East Hampton

     

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will be performed on Route 16 over the Salmon River in East Hampton through August 15, 2014.

      The project consists of the installation of beam rail across the bridge Also included will be the approach rail to account for the realignment of the bridge attachments.

      Motorists can expect alternating traffic on Route 16 provided by DOT Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
