Bridge Inspection and Detour– Whitehead Highway (SR598) in Hartford
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that bridge inspection work will be performed on Whitehead Highway (SR598) in Hartford. Whitehead Highway (SR598) between Pulaski Circle and the South Prospect Street On Ramp will be closed to traffic during the inspection process.  This project is scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 18, 2014, weather permitting.
Traffic from Pulaski Circle traveling to Whitehead Highway Eastbound will be detoured onto Sheldon Street to the intersection of South Prospect Street then onto Whitehead Highway Eastbound via On Ramp from S. Prospect Street. Westbound traffic on Whitehead Highway will not be affected by this detour. 
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
